About the Canadian Campaign for Afghan Peace

Please note that there is a menu at the top of the page that you can use if you want to access specific actions (email, tweet, call). We encourage you to engage in all actions for maximum impact.

This campaign represents a united cross-section of voices from the Afghan community in Canada, non-profits, civil society, individually concerned citizens, and stakeholders.

Our open letter outlines immediate action that Canada should take to support Afghans and Afghanistan.

With a Canadian election happening on September 20th, 2021, it is the responsibility of all Canadians, not just Afghan-Canadians, to ensure that Afghanistan is on the agenda.

We call on all Canadians to stand in solidarity with and support Afghanistan and the Afghan-Canadian community by sending emails, tweets, and making phone calls to politicians from all political parties that we have identified as key decision-makers.

You will be taken through each step of the campaign one-by-one. Step 1) Email, 2) Tweet, 3) Call. We strongly encourage you to do all 3 steps, however, you are able to skip steps if you wish.

Coming soon: targeted emails to candidates in YOUR riding from each political party.

  • Because an election was just called in Canada, many candidates have not yet set up their campaign office phone numbers and emails.
  • As soon as we compile this information, you will be able to contact your local candidates.
  • We will be hosting a Community Action Hour, where anyone in Canada can join us for a power hour of sending emails, tweets, phone calls, and making noise, in a space for community,
  • Please select "Yes, send me updates on the response to our demands" so that you are updated on responses to our demands, when the function to contact your local candidates is live, and when our Community Action Hour is happening.
